EL PARAÍSO TODAVÍA ES POSIBLE

Mauricio Ibáñez nació en Barranquilla en noviembre de 1962. Es administrador marítimo, y dirige una prestigiosa agencia marítima en Colombia. En su tiempo libre se dedica a su familia y a sus otros amores: el mar, la lectura, los viajes y la escritura. En sus dos últimos años en el colegio Alemán dirigió la revista estudiantil, en donde salieron a relucir sus talentos para liderar y escribir. Le apasionan los temas que generan conflicto en la humanidad moderna. Así ha nacido esta obra, su tercer libro formalmente publicado, cuyo nombre original era Mi cárcel es tu cárcel.

El autor ha sido conferencista para la corporación no gubernamental PEP que desarrolla desde Barranquilla programas para la formación de ciudadanos confiables. Es miembro de la Junta Directiva de la Asociación de Agentes Navieros de Colombia, y participa en el periódico El Universal de Cartagena de Indias enviando sus columnas de opinión a la página editorial abordando temas de actualidad.

Mariali es secuestrada junto con sus amigas al final de una función de cine en Bogotá por peligrosos delincuentes. Ahora debe transitar un doloroso camino hacia su libertad, atrapada por el dilema entre el castigo y el perdón, mientras enfrenta a su familia, a su victimario, y la incertidumbre de su futuro.

Mauricio Ibáñez was born in Barranquilla in November 1962. He is a maritime administrator and runs a prestigious maritime agency in Colombia. In his free time he devotes himself to his family and his other passions: the sea, reading, travel, and writing. In his final two years at the German School he edited the student magazine, where his talents for leadership and writing came to the fore. He is passionate about topics that generate conflict in modern humanity. This work was born from that passion — his third formally published book, whose original title was My Prison Is Your Prison.

The author has been a speaker for the non-governmental organization PEP, which develops programs from Barranquilla for building trustworthy citizens. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Colombian Shipping Agents Association, and contributes opinion columns to the editorial page of El Universal de Cartagena de Indias, addressing current affairs.

Mariali is kidnapped along with her friends at the end of a cinema screening in Bogotá by dangerous criminals. She must now travel a painful road toward her freedom, caught in the dilemma between punishment and forgiveness, while confronting her family, her attacker, and the uncertainty of her future.
