Nel percorso verrete a imparare molte cose (come è capitato a lui) su Uomini Neri, Orchi, Nani ed Elfi e potrete dare uno sguardo alla storia e alla politica di un’epoca trascurata ma molto importante. Infatti il signor Bilbo Baggins andò in visita a vari personaggi di rilievo; ebbe una conversazione con il drago Smaug; fu presente alla Battaglia dei Cinque Eserciti. Tutto ciò è tanto più singolare in quanto egli era uno Hobbit. Finora gli Hobbit sono stati trascurati nella storia e nella leggenda, forse perché – in genere – preferivano le comodità alle emozioni.
